Filigree Ball Pendant, light

This decorated cradle ball was used on a cradle (the komsio), in order to protect the child from evil spirits. Christening gift in Lapland. The Gothic letter M, with a crown at the bottom of the ball, represents the Virgin Mary, the Queen of Heaven.
